Facilities

Our state-of-the-art eight bed sleep unit opened in 2012.

We are able to provide individual en-suite in-patient facilities for complex sleep study investigations, including four polysomnography beds to allow sleep staging by electroencephalogram and video recording.

Sleep studies for sleep breathing disorders are usually carried out at home using simpler portable equipment to measure breathing patterns and oxygen levels during sleep.

The Team

The sleep team is a multidisciplinary group of experts which includes consultations and highly specialised sleep physiologists and technologists that include technical officers, sleep coordinators, and a research lead.

Referral Information

Referrals may be sent from General Practitioners or other medical practitioners directly to the Sleep Service or via ‘Choose and Book’, or to our consultants by letter (address below) or by fax to 0151 529 3129.
