Northwest Assistive Technology is a specialist regional service based at Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that provides assistive technology and advice to people with disabilities.

Serving a population of 6.7 million people in the Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Lancashire, and South Cumbria regions, the team works with a wide range of electronic assistive technologies and with a wide range of individuals with severe disabilities such as brain injury, Guillain Barre syndrome, Multiple sclerosis, Motor neurone disease, Muscular dystrophy or Spinal Injury.
Examples of a standard installation include:
- Intercom and door release
- Hands free telephone
- Access to all entertainment equipment (TV, Sky, DVD, CD, radio)
- Alarm to alert carers
- Remote access to turn on a lamp or a fan
