1 in 6 adults report some level of hearing loss. Studies have linked hearing loss to dementia, increased isolation, anxiety and depression.
Deaf Awareness Week is an annual event to raise awareness of the challenges that Deaf and hard of hearing people face. This year's event takes place from 6 – 12 May 2019. The theme is ‘Celebrating Role Models’ focusing on different areas of life and work to encourage organisations to celebrate their role models.
During this week there will be information outside the Boardroom (Aintree Lodge entrance) on 7th and 8th May.
Hearing charity professionals will be available with information about Deaf issues, hearing impairment, hearing protection and where to get help and support.
We also want your ideas in how services at Aintree for deaf and hard of hearing patients, visitors and staff can be improved.
A focus group is being held on 6th June at 10am in the Boardroom. If you would like to attend, please contact Tracey Lowry on firstname.lastname@example.org.
